Joel ran through some web sites, gave them points for aesthetics. Funny, and he pointed out a few nice apps.

Graeme, at Presence Labs, suggests that happy faces make web sites feel nicer. Joel pointed out the reddit alien: nice and cute, like a baby.

Anyone heard about AirSet. How’d we miss it with all the talk about 30 boxes. It has timezone support, but the cell phone application looks like it lacks international support. I’ll play with it more later.

Hans admitted that address book integration was not a feature yesterday. So they worked for several hours and produced integration. It’s quite sweet, and he demonstrated clicking on his cell phone and it launched Skype.

Again, they just announced an open API, so that it’s extendable.

Essentially Brian’s presentation was a demo of Events and Venues database (EVDB).

Great event/venue application. All open, e.g.:open API etc. and all good web 2.0 joo joo.

Brian announced “Dream” Events: events you wish would happen, demand aggregation, tools for fans, etc.

Looks great. A little more progressive than upcoming.org. I’ll have a play, add a few iCal feeds, and see what happens.
