I’ve been buying products online for over a decade, and fortunately have had very few instances of bad service. However, a few weeks ago I decided to print a t-shirt for an episode of Scouta TV. I spent 30 minutes whipping together a fun design, and then searched for an Australian online print service.
I wanted to pick an Australian print company, because I hoped to get the t-shirt delivered within two weeks. So I found VistaPrint. I placed the order on March 14, and paid the extra fee for fast delivery.
According to the VistaPrint site, my order was shipped on March 17, and had a 9 day delivery time. To be honest, I thought 9 days was an obscene length of time for delivery within Australia, and had a closer look at the site. After digging a little, I figured that it was actually a US site, that was offering services in Australia. However, it doesn’t make that clear anywhere on the site. Had it suggested it was printing and shipping from the US, I would have looked elsewhere for another company.
Needless to say, I still haven’t received my t-shirt.
I’ve complained twice using their “Customer Care” form. Apparently they will contact me within 48 hours. I heard nothing. I’ve even asked for a refund, given their 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed clause. However, no response.
My suggestion to anyone wanting to use VistaPrint, is to look elsewhere. Their service is the worst I’ve ever experienced.

Watch your credit card bill very carefully: http://www.consumeraffairs.com/online/vistaprint.html
I agree it’s misleading. I figured out they were overseas before I placed my order though and I was pretty happy with the business cards I got and the price.
But after reading the comments on the link from scientaestubique I doubt I will use them again.
Just a heads up, VistaPrint isn’t Australian based at all. According to Wikipedia they’re the “largest online print shop” and none of the actual printing is done in Australia. If you look at some of their different websites like vistaprint.co.uk, vistaprint.co.nz and vistaprint.com.au, you’ll notice that they simply change the currency between them.
Beware of Vista Print services!!!
After entering my order for business cards today, I got the order confirmation screen that asked me to answer a 4-5 question survey. I filled it out and entered my email address, then it went to another screen that asked me to enter my email address to get free offers. I then realized that everytime I clicked YES on any of the pages that followed activated a free trial offer that would charge my credit card a monthly fee after the trail period.
I called up their customer service right away and asked them to remove any additional charges to my credit card with the exception of the charges for the business card. The operator complied and told me that she has removed the trial membership in the Vista Rewards program.
This is a very misleading practice and an indicates a company that cannot be trusted.
