I’m off to Thailand tonight. So blogging might not happen this week.
Anything exciting or inspiring, and I’ll blog it. Otherwise keep an eye on my Flickr stream.
I booked a trip to Thailand today. I leave in just over a week for a trip that’ll last about a week. I’m looking forward to it, in that it’s-time-to-get-out-of-the-country-for-a-short-spell type of way. I’ll also be lugging my laptop for work, and my EOS350D. So aim to upload some shots to Flickr.
I just finished watching Blink, the most recent episode of Dr. Who shown on Aussie TV. I’d rate it as the best ever episode. Pure genius.
And this is just hilarious.
I just noticed that Apple’s iTunes Music Store hasn’t been updated today. For those that don’t use it, it updates with new music every Tuesday. I check it weekly for new tracks, but there’s nothing new today.
The last time I noticed a Tuesday without an update was a few months ago when they added the iTunes+ tracks to the library.
It’s obvious that it has something to do with Apple’s announcement on the 5th. The rumours are rampant that it’s iPod related, but the lack of an update makes it interesting in that it looks like it’ll also effect the Music Store.
More media? Different media? A complete iTunes update?
Too cool!
Update: Damn it…looks like I jumped the gun. This morning there is an update. Strange that they skipped a day.
Just over a week ago I completed the new City to Surf Half Marathon. I’d been training for it for a few months, bar a week due to a strange knee issue, and all up I have to say it was awesome.
The whole process has been interesting — not unlike managing a start-up — but a couple of things really stood out.
At that sort of distance, food really matters. If I didn’t prepare properly by eating the right food, and taking a couple of Carbo Gel packs with me for the run, I felt exhausted after about an hour. So before a training run that was to last over an hour, I’d make sure I’d eaten well a few hours before, and grabbed some fruit before I ran out the door.
The other issue, and it seems pretty obvious I know, are the hours that are needed for training. I would love to run a marathon soon, but I’m just not sure I have the time to put the training in. Below is a snap-shot of my Nike+ account, showing the training runs I’ve done over the last couple of months. I’d need to up the amount if I wanted to do a full marathon.

Anyway, I didn’t complete the race in a blistering time — literally or figuratively — but I was very happy with the result. Next year I’ll aim for something under the two-hour mark, and make sure I place better than a number that’s less satanic ;).

I’ve been considering arcing up my personal blog a little recently. For some reason I’ve been feeling the need to express myself a little.
It’s been a massive few years, and through that time I’ve slowed down blogging. Not suprising when you consider I’ve written two books, left full time work, launched Scouta, and had my personal life turn up -side-down.
Anyway, the question now becomes how to aggregate all this new information about me from across the net. A blog, Flickr, Facebook, etc. So here is a test. I’ve added the WordPress app to Facebook, just to see how they might work together.
Lets see if this last more than one post.
