At the end of last year I decided to start running again. I figured that if I was to run a new company I needed to be healthy of mind and body, and sitting around writing books and business plans hadn’t done much for my fitness. So I bought a Nike+ kit for the iPod nano, and started running.
At some point I decided to train for a marathon. I guess I don’t often do things by halves, and it seemed like a compelling proposition: starting a business and completing a marathon in the same year.
So in-between the occasional flu and injury, I’ve been building up my running. You can see part of it here from my Nike+ account, and my recent runs of about 13 to 16 KM.

Last night I found some neat software for my mobile phone, the Nokia Sports Tracker.
Nokia Sports Tracker is a GPS based activity tracker that runs on S60 smartphones. Information such as speed, distance and time are automatically stored to your training diary. To be able to use application for real, you need Nokia S60 3.0 or 3.1 phone with Bluetooth GPS device or Nokia S60 3.0 or 3.1 phone with integrated GPS.
It stores a serious amount of information that you can look at on the fly. But one fun feature is the ability to export to a .kml file which you can import into Google Earth. Check out my map of this evenings run.

Only unfortunate part is I have to carry the iPod nano and my Nokia phone on my run. Well, I am a geek.
