It’s cool they’ve added it, but it’s a tad oversimplified.

As I asked Mick, if podcasting is a noun what is the verb for podcasting?
Molly
“Podcast” is as much a verb as “podcasting” (though both of them are nouns, too), and I would wager (although I doubt this has been hashed out through common use) that “podcast” covers future and past tenses and participles.
- He will podcast his show tomorrow
- The show will be podcast tomorrow
- He is podcasting his show right now
- The show is being podcast right now
- He podcast the show yesterday
- The show was podcast yesterday
“Podcasted” sounds atrocious. Then again, so did “blog”.
That said, I don’t think it’s really oversimplified. Dictionaries don’t want to get bogged down in the specifics of syndication and whatnot.
