A Bloody Brilliant Blog Nite.

I’ve been wanting to post about the Perth Blog Nite since the event, but between work, spending time with my daughter, and renovating the house I’ve lacked the time.
The night was fantastic. An amazing turn out, great presentations, interesting questions and conversations, all well beyond my expectations. It was fun to stand and watch as [...]

Blogging at the end of the earth.

Our Perth Blog Nite has received some great press from PC World. The article is available online at their site, Blogging at the end of the earth.

Radio Killed The Internet Star.

Over the last few months there have been a few articles (one here another here) and concerns over RSS and the affects it has on bandwidth use. The concern is that it could grind the net to a halt by having feed readers pole every hour or as little as every fifteen minutes. For pure rss/xml/atom it maybe justified for very popular sites, but the real killer is other digital data, like Podcasts. Geek News has some interesting stats on their first audio feed. Fortunately the innovation related to this type of technology is so rapid that we’ll see the convergence of Podcasting and Bittorrents in the the next couple of weeks. It’s really starting to get fascinating how we’re massively connected.

If you haven’t tried out Podcasting yet, swing on over to iPodder and check out some of the recommended clients, feeds, and have some fun. Adam Curry’s Podcast, Daily Source Code, is especially interesting if you want to understand where the technology sprang from and is headed.
